His community involvement includes serving as a co-founder, officer and director of Band Together, a Raleigh-based nonprofit formed in the aftermath of 9/11 whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for local charities through high-profile music events.  Tom also serves as a director of Boys & Girls Club of Wake County and a director and officer of Goodwill Community Foundation and Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina.  He is a member of the Leadership Council and an officer of the Church of the Apostles.
