Representative Experience
Jennifer's practice is focused on general corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning and estate planning.
In her corporate practice, she has counseled closely-held companies on the tax and business implications related to the formation, operation, conversion and termination of S Corps, limited liability companies, joint ventures and partnerships. She serves as counsel to companies with regard to ongoing corporate and business matters, including drafting and negotiating contracts and licenses, and represents these companies in various business transactions including mergers and acquisitions and corporate reorganizations.
Her estate planning experience ranges from the preparation of wills, living wills, powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney for individual clients to the creation of wealth transfer vehicles such as family limited liability companies, charitable remainder trusts and irrevocable life insurance trusts. Jennifer works with clients on tax-saving wealth transfer strategies such as business succession planning, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, generation skipping trusts, charitable lead and remainder trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, asset protection strategies and probate minimization strategies, including the use of funded revocable living trusts.
Jennifer has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a Rising Star (2009, 2010).
