Manning Fulton has worked with clients to help build their futures since the firm was founded in 1954. Many of our client relationships extend back years¾business leaders who had a seed of a new idea and called Manning Fulton to help them get started. Treasured clients include the largest privately-held company in North Carolina, as well as large public and private real estate companies, REITs, insurance companies, manufacturing and numerous other businesses. We also help the executives preserve their wealth, and plan to ensure both the financial safety of their companies and their families.
Values from the beginning
The firm was started in 1954 by Howard E. Manning, Sr. and Charles L. Fulton. Their early work ethic dictated that they would be passionate advocates for their clients, but at the same time carefully earn their reputations as among the finest lawyers in the state. Three years later, William P. Skinner, Jr. joined the firm and together they quickly became the go-to lawyers for business owners who wanted to build and protect their interests and their assets.
They set the standard for all Manning Fulton lawyers¾to demonstrate client advocacy through extraordinary service, relationships and results.
The schools that launched our careers
Manning Fulton lawyers have received degrees from some of the best schools in the US, including Harvard, Columbia, University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, Brigham Young University, George Washington University, Duke University, Washington & Lee University, Wake Forest University, Campbell University, University of the South, North Carolina State University and Wittenberg University.
Because education only sets the stage for success, our lawyers pursue sophisticated coursework and training¾as teachers and as students¾that build their knowledge-base, reputations and character.
Leaders make things happen
In addition to being active members of charitable and civic organizations, firm lawyers are leaders in the legal industry. Lawyers have served as President of the North Carolina Bar Association, President of the Wake County Bar Association, Chairs of the Tax, Construction and Estate and Probate Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association, and as members of the North Carolina Bar Association's Board of Governors. A former Manning Fulton lawyer is serving as a North Carolina Superior Court Judge.
Our lawyers are frequently singled out as among the best in exclusive lists and national organizations. Manning Fulton has two lawyers who are members of the American College of Real Estate Attorneys, one who is listed in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, one who is a member of both the American College of Tax Counsel and the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel. In addition, our firm has five lawyers listed in The Best Lawyers in America© in 2008, nine lawyers selected as North Carolina Super Lawyers for 2008, and twelve lawyers, who between 2002 and 2008, have been selected to Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite".
